This is far better than you would expect for a 15 year old teenager. Although a six track EP, it is Jacob's second album release, and shows significant improvement on his previous 2010 album. His acoustic guitar-based songwriting is in the style of Ed Sheeran with autobiographical reflections. I especially liked the lyrics of "Something Wonderful" - "I'm just the clay, you're moulding me.....you take the pieces and turn them into something beautiful". "Lost & Found" is wonderfully positive and would capture hearts at a summer festival. Previous criticism that there are too many words for the music no longer applies, as the lyrics scan perfectly with the rhythm. All six songs are neatly constructed and the professional production by Andy Baker really shows them off. The instrumentation is precisely balanced across the gentle drums, soft piano and tasty lead guitar. What I struggled with is Jacob's high pitched alto voice which reminded me of the comedian Joe Pesquale, so I found it difficult not to laugh and it detracted from enjoying the songs. That said, this is a triumph of songwriting and production and it's no surprise that "It's OK" and the title track have been selected for Cross Rhythms airplay.
