JT's 60s pop/rock sound won them many fans in the USA. This useful retrospective offers a selection of demos of their best songs and previously unavailable recordings revealing JT weren't just jangly Rickenbackers. There's lots worth checking out and the moods and atmospheres caught here weren't always reproduced in the bigger budget versions. The band had a knack of writing cliche free pithy songs soaked in truth. (Check out "Psalm 151" or "Dreammaker" for solid evidence!) Lyrics and melodies are first class and there's a big sense of fun captured here - just check out Eden Again's humorous effective selection of samples including Lennon, Blues Brothers and Python! Art art art and indeed art! This album proves that even without the studio trickery JT were a great band. There is one absolutely unmissable gem to play to your youth group called "About Sex". Literally an in-your-face reply to those sex filled songs that pollute the charts. It includes a special message for George Michael! Jacob's Trouble never really cracked it over here and listening to this album, it's a shame!
