Jim Hudgins not only writes his own material but he also co-hosts the Texas Country Gospel Television Show. The term country is actually a very broad description for many styles of music and listening to Jim I could describe him vocally as someone very influenced by the late Elvis Presley, with a touch of Glen Campbell and PJ Proby thrown in for good measure! There in lies part of the problem for this recording, that whilst the songs follow deep Christian truths with such titles as "Gotta Tell", "You're Loved By God" and "Something About A Sunday" the whole album comes over as quite dreary and uninspired as most of the tracks are just too slow and similar in tempo. The pity is that with such lyrically strong material, the album is crying out for a more dynamic vocal approach and a far better production.
