More from that source of CCM creativity - New Generation Ministries. 'Big Mouth' is Jimmy Ragstaff's first release. The blurb says that they take an energetic, zaney yet tight approach to their music and I'm inclined to agree. I've never heard a vacuum cleaner used in an intro before, but it's a nice change! You'll hear it on the evangelistic/thought provoking song "Round And Round". Most of the tracks combine a touch of tongue in cheek humour with sound biblical doctrine and bold lyrics. Take the title song "Big Mouth" - simple words about controlling the tongue and being selective in what we watch on TV set to a funky grunge mixture of guitars and lead violin with a solid background of drums, bass and a few keyboard fills. Nice thrash near the end! Styles? Influences? Hard to guess but I'd say Comfort Zone and more especially "Black And White" have strong 1980's Rush overtones. Ugly Kid Joe, Spin Doctors and some waco rave probably add to the concoction. Definitely worth your consideration.

I agree - i have heard rumours of a re-union or tribute concert to Jimmy Ragstaff...didn't Soul Survivor want them to headline in 2009??? or am i thinking of someone else?...

wow..these guys really changed how i approach music! The Bass playing has taught me a lot and i have played these songs thousands of times! For me, it woz the lyrics that made me listen....no..i mean REALLY listen!
If you can find them, if you know of them, maybe you can...let the world know where they are!?? Thanks!
