The former Avalon tenor has released his first new material since he stepped back from performing with the band for health reasons nearly a decade ago. This is stylistically a pop album with a few different influences from the gospel "Good To Be Home" to the orchestral "What It Takes To Be A Savior". Melissa Green appears on "God Is On Control", a different version to Avalon's cover of the Twila Paris standard, slower but just as impactful and emotional. One of the best songs has to be the worshipful "With Each Borrowed Breath", a masterful praise ballad with Celtic overtones, a classic in the making. McBrayer has a powerful and high octane voice which conveys well on tracks with contrasting tempos, displaying heartfelt emotion and passion. This is an excellently produced comeback album with many highlights and great melodies.
