Joe is a singer/songwriter from Yeovil who released an excellent rock-orientated album 'Without Borders' in 2016 and here returns with some recordings made at St James Church in Yeovil. It takes a huge step forward with Joe moving from rock stylings to a slower acoustic sound that leans on atmospheric synths and light, buttery guitar lines. The title track of the EP has garnered over 20,000 streams in its first four months of existence with its mellow acoustic guitar and excellent use of the church's natural reverb accented by electronic drums and synths. The parable of the Prodigal Son is examined in the second song, "Son", building on the theme of the first track with its message of reconciliation and paternal love and applying them to Joe's own son. The EP closes with a beautiful acoustic version of his previous most popular song, "Sing My Soul". An uplifting EP which emanates a sense of calm and peace.
