An Aussie rocker with eyes to see and talent to tell of the ghastly injustices handed out to the Aboriginal people. "Maranooka" is aborigine for "friend" and the name given to missionary Daniel Matthews who gave his time, energy, land, family and health in the service of those dispossessed and degraded people he found in the Australian outback. John Dickson has conceived a brilliant album, full of torrid impassioned rock with a touch of INXS, and with fragments of didgeridoo, which deserves the attention of every serious rock fan and every believer wanting to raise a banner for Christianity rather than the hypocrisy of white man's religion.
