A man and his guitar- acoustic of course. What could be more spiritually refreshing that a gutsy, down-to-earth song about the sort of pain we all face at some point, most sharply on sleepless nights? "Long are the days, longer the nights . I pray for faith for I've lost the faith in me" (from the opening track "Peace", dedicated to a couple and the "memory of baby Michael"). First impressions, however, were benched as the backing track came in with a beat which in my mind did not quite connect with the subject, even allowing for differences in taste across the Atlantic (this product is from Canada). It's an eclectic style, at its best when folk-tinged, but the real maturity of this young artist is in the lyrics. The album is driven by a vision of the Christian - as Luther said - simultaneously justified and in need of grace. The title track is blessed with a touch of humour sadly often lacking in Christian output.
