One of four season themed EPs, this five-track offering from the Salford-based singer/songwriter and Rivers & Robots main man tackles the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness with quiet confidence. Fittingly low key, there is an overriding ambient feel to proceedings with Ogden employing floating piano chords backed by the simplest of hip-hop beats to create a suite of ostinato pieces that allow plenty of room for reflection. The piano on the suitably wispy "Clouds" is somewhat reminiscent of American piano great George Winston - who himself released season-themed albums - whilst the abstract "Psalm 27" sees Ogden offer up a captivatingly wistful vocal to bring life to this particular Bible text. Elsewhere, Ogden's voice goes through the auto tuner to good effect on the R&B-tinged prayer "Remind Me" whilst the beautiful instrumental "Falling Leaves" showcases Ogden's innate talent of being able to turn out something great from very little.
