If Songs Of Praise is your cup of earl grey, then put the kettle on. This is the debut album of a Co Down Presbyterian farmer's wife, proceeds of same to the church building fund and other charities. And that is pretty much the way the CD sounds. The first track is a genteel version of Noel Richards' "My Lips Shall Praise You" toned down a little (the horses are easily frightened in Ballynahinch!), followed by a setting of the 23rd Psalm. According to the article accompanying the CD, Joyce brings both traditional and modern aspects to the worship in her church. Oh well, to quote one of the more profound tracks on the album, "May the sun be warm and may the sky be blue.may the saints and Saviour watch over you."
