The 2015 released EP from the well-established London-based soul, jazz and gospel singer kicks off with the delightfully funky "Never Been Loved" which, despite the questionable overuse of some bizarre and occasionally distracting spoken word sections, sees the songstress in fine vocal form and offers up something that immediately catches the ear. Elsewhere, "What You Can Do" showcases Rendell's ability to turn out soulful performances and well-written songs that reflect God's redeeming love whilst the piano-led "Thank You" is nothing short of a masterclass in soul balladry. Unfortunately, the pedestrian-paced "Waterfalls" and "Sunrise" fail to stand out sounding very much like songs that have been done countless times before by other similar artists and this causes something of a slump in this unusually inconsistent release from one of Britain's most highly regarded soul and gospel singers.
