I once voted for Julie to win a Battle Of The Bands competition at CrossFire (she did) and have been patiently waiting for a new tape ever since. Well, here it is courtesy of her trusty Tascam 8-track and I'll say It again, this lady is GOOD. Working within the musical axis of dance-tinged pop gospel she makes bold statements of faith while never resorting to cliche. Her voice is tough and bluesy on the meatier tracks, glidingly poignant on the ballads. Yep, there are a few glitches in the production. But Julie is a grassroots singing and songwriting talent which deserves wholehearted support. Buy this tape and get to see her in concert.
