Following on from several singles and music videos and his album 'Murder My Flesh' Infiltrate Music releases this free EP. Influenced by the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Sho Baraka and Swoope the teenager adds plenty of his own personality and creativity. With some crafty wordplay and vivid imagery, he kicks off with "Hippsavvy Cypher" which features a plea from Angelisa to come out of the harmful hip-hop culture to a life of value in Christ. With a compressed and nicely gritty loop, this is one of the album's standouts. There's a soulful jazzy edge complete with a muted trumpet sample on "Versace Dreams" as Kidd opens up about the battle against vanity, fashion and money. "Jumpman (After The Rain)" is another excellent cut with JGivens lifting things and encouraging his generation to put their guns down and live while "Dat Typa Dude" has a tasty beat. This is a solid album that strikes a balance between underground rap and accessible tunes, from someone who clearly has a future as an emcee and speaks into his own generation with aplomb.
