Three of KXC's songs from the London church's first two EPs have already made it onto the Cross Rhythms playlist, and this, their debut full-length, clearly shows that this thriving fellowship planted in London's King's Cross have the creative ability to now deliver an exceptional full-length set. The explosion of modern worship releases makes it, of course, hard for any aggregation making a new album to find a large audience unless, like Bethel Music or Worship Central, they are prepared to tour. Here's hoping that KXC will get to the national platforms like Spring Harvest and Big Church Day Out, as they have the songs, the singers and the instrumentalists sufficiently skilled to grip vast throngs. Particular standouts are the title track, "Kingdom Come (Lift Up Your Heads)" and "Love Song (Before You Formed The Earth)". One reviewer of this set commented on some of the lyrics containing the "curious non-sequiturs - 'no name is higher. . . and yet you call us deeper still'". But I'll let that pass. This is another demonstration that the UK Church is producing material every bit as good as the high profile ministries from Australia and the USA.
