Originally from New York, Brunig was involved in writing and performing music from an early age. He has been involved in various ways in the industry including radio commercial jingles and music production founding the Mighty Rushing Wind Recording Studios. This is the second album he has produced taking clear influences from blues, gospel and Americana. The rugged vocals fit in well with the musical style and he shows himself to be a very competent songwriter. A variety of instrumentation is used to try and add texture but occasionally they all get in the way of each other. There are however some songs such as "Hiding Place" where Brunig does keep it simple musically and these are the songs that stand out with the quality of his songwriting being able to speak for itself. The quality of the recording is also not the best. If you are a fan of bluesy roots rock then it is worth a listen.
