After 25 years of recording, 19 Dove award nominations, 17 US Christian radio number ones and 19 albums Kathy is still going strong. On recent releases Kathy has adopted a more acoustic approach than on some of her older albums and on this CD even has a go at some Brat Pack style swing/jazz in one or two places. To be honest I think it's a style that she should best stay clear of in future, but you have to admire her for trying something different even after all these years of success. I'm sure her legions of fans, especially stateside, will forgive her the odd mistake. To be sure Kathy still oozes class and the production values and musicianship are beyond question but for me this is probably a little bland and there are no real killer tracks of note. In truth not one of her best but I'm sure it wont stop it selling by the bucket load Stateside.

Product Description
At her core, Kathy Troccoli is a motivator, exhorter and encourager to those with whom she comes into contact. Her growth as an author and speaker has also given even more impact to both her ministry and the power of her songs. Kathy’s clarity in her mission is clearly felt throughout The Story Of Love which is also her 17th album and first studio recording since 2002.
As in her last two releases, Draw Me Close and Comfort, Kathy has crafted an album that emphasises the unique timbre, vulnerability and passion of Kathy’s voice. Her artistry as a vocalist has never been more evident as on this latest album, gliding through jazz classics such as Pick Yourself Up and The Glory Of Love and taking command on impact tunes like Lifting My Hands, Friend For Life and the Keith Green classic Make My Life A Prayer To You.
This great new album is sure to appeal to Kathy’s fans as well as fans of Twila Paris, Amy Grant and others.

Kathy goes back in mode for this November release; with very
melancholoy melodies: some ancient.
The title can throw listeners off some, expecting to hear
all ccm songs; considering her last few releases.
She begins with old Fred Astaire hit from 1936, "Pick
Yourself Up"; also made popular by Frank Sinatra in 1962 &
Nat King Cole in 1961. Included is a tune that
the late Keith Green recorded in 1978, written by his wife
Melody; "Make My Life a Prayer to YOU"; also recorded by 2nd
chapter of Acts the same year. Well-
known First Call vocalist Bonnie Keen assists in bgvs
for this project. Kathy's vocals on " Psalm 34" are filled
with tenderness. CCM artist David Edwards supplies the song
"Mercy"; nice cover by Kathy.
The songset began with a '30's tune and ends with
another from same era; "The Glory of Love" made
popular in late 80's by Bette Midler. I kind'a have to
agree this is not Kathy's best project, tho' there are some
songs that touch. GOD Bless, - Don
