Keith Hammond is one of the worship leaders at Kingsgate Community Church in Peterborough, you know that big church that Chris Moyles was famously talking about a couple of years ago on his breakfast show. Back in the day he fronted the band Lifeline but now he's put his energy into writing and recording 17 original songs. The songs range from what could be used in a corporate worship setting to others that could be used in outreach or simply exist on the album to provoke thought. Hammond demonstrates that he is a skilled songwriter and has a blue eyed soul voice which works well with this material. There's plenty here to get excited about! The acoustic reworking of the hymn "When I Survey" which has been renamed "Amazing Love" and given a fresh melody works very well. I like the rockier stuff too and opener "Blown Away" sets the scene nicely whilst the title cut is at atmospheric ballad and "I've Come To Praise" goes in a funkier direction. Spread across 17 tracks, there's little here that is filler and you certainly get your money's worth!
