If you enjoy urban/R&B gospel worship music then you may want to investigate this debut album by new artist Ken Simbwa. This young singer/songwriter, originally born and raised in Uganda now residing in the UK, features heartfelt lyrics that reflect his love for God while Ken's vocals are similar in style to African rap artist Akon and each track is complimented by some smooth background vocals. 'Restoration' opens with a traditional African sounding "Lift Him Higher" encouraging the listener to worship God. There then follows some laid back R&B feel tracks such as "Time For Everything" (pulling its inspiration from Ecclesiastes 3), "Hold On", and the infectious "You Are Worthy". As well as singing Ken also raps on "When The Lord Is On My Side" - which has another catchy chorus - and Ken raps in his native tongue on "Give Thanks" which has a slight bashment/reggae feel with a heart thumping bass line. A quite reasonable debut.
