This CD from a Kansas-based music teacher brings 13 tracks, (10 songs and three instrumentals) in a prog-rock style, played mostly on keyboards. The album suffers from a very dated feel firmly belonging to the time of early Rick Wakeman material, and a high pitched voice and delivery which, despite repeated listening, I have not been able to warm to. Examples are "In A Land Far Away" which draws in an imaginative way from the book of Revelation, but Kevin's voice sounds strained and pushed to its limit. And on "Him Alone", the amount of words in a verse presents scanning problems. Kevin's songwriting is his strength with the catchy "Kingdom Come" and the simple yet direct "Light Of The World". However, as a whole, I found the album mildly irritating due to its over emphasis on the keyboard and the vocals which would be much better suited to choral singing or maybe part of an ensemble rather than solo performances.
