Reviewed by Paul Kerslake This is the fourth album from Kristi, a Texas resident and missionary evangelist at The Oaks Fellowship in Red Oak. Reading the bio on her website, Kristy and her husband are incredibly active in outreach and evangelism in America, and her music is an integral part of this. 'You See Beauty' opens with "Heart Of Flesh", a powerful song both lyrically and musically about the dangers of temptation and the gradual hardening of our hearts. Followed by "This Is Life", one of the few songs on here not written by Kristy. Recorded completely live in the studio, this is a revealing song that evolves into a time of worship as the tape rolls. I can imagine that experiencing this live would be an impactive experience. "Spontaneous Song" brings it down to just a piano vocal performance, and is one of the most revealing, honest songs on here. Kristy has a memorable voice that has the ability to be powerful and intimate, gentle and raucous. There are a few well chosen covers on here including "Favourite One" by Misty Edwards and the Keith Green classic song "Oh Lord, You're Beautiful". This is an excellent album, the production, musicians, songwriting and even the packaging are exemplary, particularly impressive when one considers the entire album is free to download from her website with the opportunity to partner with her or donate to her ministry.
