Having never met Mr Goss (a veteran pianist/producer of literally hundreds of easy listening/southern Gospel albums) I have no idea of the spirit and lifestyle of the man. For all I know he is a spiritual colossus, a man whose towering faith and Holy Spirit power have touched tens of thousands. All I can comment on is his music. The man has serious technique but on the evidence of these solo pieces little in the way of interpretive skill and 20 oldies from American hymnals - some known, some unknown, on this side of the pond - make one's attention wander long before the end. Dull, pedestrian and eminently forgettable.
