Larnelle Harris has of course done it all Stateside, moving from black gospel to heavily orchestrated 'inspirational' music. Here, they've drafted in some top producers to give veteran Larnelle pop R&B appeal. Personally, it leaves me cold, at times it all sounds so much like Michael Bolton that I want to scream! However, I assume a review is intended to remain as unbiased as possible, so here goes. Lyrically the album is commendable -I can't find a single fault or any Christian cliches (which devalues a song/album one 100 cent) and there's also an interesting workover of "All Hail The Power Of Jesus' Name". Musically, after the first three songs I want something different, all the songs sound the same (although the tracks are not indistinguishable). Having said that, though, this is a good album (he says that objectively!) and if for some reason you like this style of music, or are a Mr Harris fan, it's worth buying.
