Reviewed by Paul Kerslake Laura Rhinehart specialises in "soaking", a form of worship and ministry where time is spent in God's presence, resting in him, experiencing him and choosing to be intimate with him. This EP follows on from her debut album, 'The Soaking Room', which is also the name of her very informative website. The music is ambient, piano and vocal lead with a delicate balance of interest and space to carry the listener through the soaking experience. The material is lifted from studio sessions and live worship at her home church in Franklin, Tennessee. Laura's vocals and songs are supported ably by pianist Mark Woodward who also provides some wonderful harmonies. The first five tracks blend together seamlessly, and it's difficult to tell which elements are planned and which are spontaneous; they flow together so well. The only slight deviation is the last track, "Little One Lullaby", which is more song structured than the preceding tracks, but still a beautiful work. Clearly Laura has a lot of experience, and copious gifting in this style of worship. This is an ideal source for aiding your ministry time, adding to your quiet time, and for focussing your time with God.
