This album is a bit hard to classify - despite the nominal Gospel appellation on the label, if I'd heard it without seeing the cover I'd probably call it pop/soul as much as gospel. One thing you can be certain of with a gospel album, though, is that you're going to be listening to someone who can sing, and this is no exception. The production is up to the standard you'd expect, and the 10 tracks cover a selection of soul and gospel numbers, including a hot version of the Clark Sisters' classic "You Brought The Sunshine", that manage to maintain a sense of style without sounding samey. The title may be a bit corny, but this excellent debut solo album from the former Tri-City Singers vocalist delivers exactly what it says on the tin.
