'Where's Your Sting?' marks the third studio release by the four Potters, coming two years after its predecessor. The gentle guitar intro to "A Difficult Start" is somewhat deceiving - it's not long before we're bombarded with some full-on rocking. The scratchy rhythm guitar does well to fill in the sound, continuing into "Tear Up The Same", which now accentuates Ging's grungy overdriven bass complimented by Tiz's simple lead guitar lines. Simon's relentless drumming lays the foundation for "Made For Something More" which turns the tempo up to an energetic finale. Although the songs aren't particularly melodic, Sam's voice is adequate for the quirky lyrics and backing music, but for me the disappointment was the production. The tracks are admirably rough and edgy, but they feel empty on occasion with the lack of reverb or audible backing vocals thickening the sound and, for all his efforts, Simon's drums don't quite have the punch they ought to. Consequently I wasn't as gripped as I would have liked.
