Lisa hosts a programme on Moody Radio in the USA and heads up a ministry to women called Circle Of Friends. She's also a talented singer and songwriter and this set of 11 songs pulls together a number of themes inspired by the best-selling devotional book by Virelle Kidder from which the album takes its name. Four of the songs are co-written by Ms Troyer and the rest are by the likes of John Perry, Jeremy Johnson and Michael Boggs and Kathy Heathcock, with Horatius Bonar's great 19th century hymn "Hallelujah For The Cross" being given a great new treatment by Jeremy Johnson and Paul Marino and a cover of Nelson and McHugh's early '80s classic "People Need The Lord" also included. The arrangements are all lush and uplifting, with some fine work on both guitars and keyboards, and the lyrics point to a God who is full of love and worthy of praise. Ms Troyer's powerful voice does justice to the songs and the arrangements, and this is a fine album, but may well be most fully appreciated by those who have read the book that inspired it.
