I'd approached this EP debut from a new Milton Keynes-based band with real optimism. It was produced by Yfriday's Dez Minto for one thing. And for the first minute of the opener "To Live Is Christ" the biting guitar work came over the punchy drums and some eery effects suggested a bit of Led Zeppelin-tinged emo. And though not the greatest singer I've heard Jonathan Parsons had a nice gnarled tone to this voice. But then Christina Holman made her entrance, first as a backing singer then as lead vocalist. And the whole thing collapsed. The dear sister's vocals are woefully flat and drag the whole project into the unlistenable category. Sorry guys.

I heard these guys in concert the other week and they were very good. Jonathans vocals had improved alot and christina has left the band due to getting married. If they recorded another CD, it could be great!

i think this review is badly balanced. you only focus on vocals, which i happen to think work quite well on most of the songs.. plus there is little mention of the collective band which is an entertaining force.

Awesome, like the haunting vocals, something new. Especially liked the track To live is christ, edgy.....

Interesting review, Tony! I think that this is a convincing outing for the band, especially the mello-rock tracks. As for the vocals, I think that they are a refreshing change from the monotony of fake American accents out there. Its good to a band exposing their roots. A bit of individuality goes a long way, I think.

Really liked this. Long Walk Home seem to have bags of energy and potential. Hope this isn't the last we see of them...
