Lynda Randle is the sister of Michael Tait from dc Talk. Consequently an album that was recorded at Gotee and features some of that label's favourite session players and also includes her brother's vocal contributions has to be pretty cool, eh? More soulful than Tait's work and with less of an eye towards being fashionable, Randle creates a soulful stew of catchy songs with good old fashioned sounds rather than a state of the art trendy pop record. Nicely gospelly in places with bits of Hammond spilling out the speakers, this works well. No doubt that the message is central here with songs like "Cross Roads" and "He Is There" yearning and encouraging. The title cut is a swampy southern crossover pop tune whilst "Until I See You Again" is in memory of her father who passed away suddenly and in similar fashion to the songs on Tait's 'Empty', acknowledges the sorrow. Overall, great songs and vocal performances presented in grown up fashion.
