In the Kingsway's Right price series of budget-line reissues, I wasn't in the Kingdom when this was first released in 1974 so approached this album by the 'Phil & John of the 70s' with considerable curiosity. By the close I was enthralled. These guys were good. Malcolm Wild and Alywn Wall have the ability to write simple-yet-memorable songs and though there's nothing quite in the classic status of "Fool's Wisdom" (that's on another album in the Right Price series) there are a series of joyful acoustic jaunts with occasional touches of Simon & Garfunkel - style poignancy, which despite their period charm still speak of serious song craftsmanship. Recommended to nostalgists and to those looking for quality folk-tinged pop gospel.
