Manafest (aka Chris Greenwood), brings an unusual and varied offering from the northern climes of Canada. Employing a clutch of producers' talents, Manafest rides many styles and emotions peppered with some really versatile scratches from the creative DJ...Versatile! Some of the quality dips a bit, but worth a listen, with special mentions for the following rocks: the bass pounding "Slang Talking" is a compelling underground head nodder that demands you move, forces play on play and takes up residence inside your cranium; "Childs A Light" is a "nail your colours to the mast" anthemic number that's crafted, multi-layered and scratch rich, a feel good vibe with hints of the old school. The respect yourself track "The Ladies" is a mellow shout out to women to PUT SOME CLOTHES ON! "Your minimal dress code's effecting my mental," etc. Overall though a strong album with a gritty East Coast edge and heavy rock grooves.
