Hats off to Maranatha! Music for putting together such a strong presentation of familiar songs, chosen to unpick the theme of hope during difficult times of life. All of the songs will be well known to those enjoying contemporary worship (indeed, some of the biggest worship anthems of the generation are tackled here), so there was always going to be an element of risk involved in recording new versions. But some imaginative settings and arrangements ensure that the effect produced by the session aggregation is fresh and engaging. In particular, "Mighty To Save" and "Everlasting God" have benefited from this re-visit, and though these congregational classics have been heard many times before the listener will receive something new. All in all, a great song selection executed with highly skilled production.
