If you've heard Margaret Becker but missed her live show, this could be the video for you. The acoustic set live doesn't do her full justice but can't hide her talent. The woman definitely has a belting soulful voice in the Annie Lennox mould and can also write fine songs. Beginning with "Immigrants Daughter" you soon realise here is one of the great Christian voices. The power and smokey timbre to the woman's singing are offset by emotion welling up from her boots. "Streets Of Innocence" showcases the beauty also to be found when the gem's given the right setting. The video falls down on the static nature of the performance. This music is wild and needs no bridling. Margaret is stuck with her acoustic and looks like splintering it at one stage: Why not discard the guitar and replace it with another of her band? This video can do her nothing but good. It makes you hunger for the albums fuller sound and the muscle of a good band. Given the limitations imposed here though, this is still a great performance.
