Marian Zamfir is a Romanian missionary, pastor and musician who has recently toured in the US; Shiloh is an entirely instrumental album, though Marian does also sing on her tours. Marian plays panpipes, mandolin and fluier (sic) and is accompanied by Lacov Negru on piano and keyboard. There is a variety of beautifully relaxing music here. I preferred the more traditional sounds and I suspect that some of these are Romanian folk tunes. There are other songs that could be tunes to Romanian hymns or even original compositions. Unfortunately, the only clues I have are the titles on the sleeve. One of the tunes is correctly identified as Air On A G String but I don t think she realises that another tune on the album is The House Of The Rising Sun , as she calls it Jesus Died On A Cross ! Despite these two identifiable tunes, it is the overall Romanian flavour of the album that gives it the edge over the average instrumental.
