Reviewed by Tony Cummings In case you didn't know, Marilla has found a unique niche in the firmament of Christian music, being Britain's most-loved singer from the Catholic Church and her gentle, country-tinged easy listening style has introduced many a praise and worship classic to the Catholic community down the years. On this, her 10th album, Marilla takes an interesting sidestep in terms of her choice of songs. It's still largely covers but on this set, as well as songs from the likes of Darlene Zschech, Robin Mark and Russell Fragar, Marilla covers oldies from Tom Paxton and Gerry Rafferty. Just as surprising, Steve Hindalong and Derald Daugherty's beautiful "Beautiful Scandalous Night" is given a workout. Arrangements are hugely predictable, consisting of producer Amy Sage's string synth and a delicately picked acoustic from Howard Lees, while Manila's sweet vocals soar effortlessly. For thousands, Marilla is THE voice of songs of faith and devotion. This album, like its predecessors, will no doubt find a receptive audience though I suspect few will be Cross Rhythms readers.

How many letters of the alphabet have I got to make a comment? Not enough! Sufficient to say Marilla - Resting In Love was the first of her many CDs and two DVDs that I ever saw and listen to and fell in love with. Not only with the CD but with the singer herself and her husband Brian.
When they came to Australia in 2004 I had the privilege and pleasure of taking them to the highest restaurant in Sydney. It was an unforgettable night. Just like all Marilla's music is unforgettable!
