This is New York-born and Atlanta-based Mark J's third innovative album. Grooving on top of a distinctive hip hop soundtrack, Mark J's array of lyrical concepts are all focused on the Lordship of Christ. Enhanced by plenty of meaningful samples along the way, it's a classic hip hop formula with a hint of jazz thrown into the mix and overall, Mark carries off the whole thing with confidence. 'Concept After Concept' deals with a pile of issues in hard hitting fashion on tracks like "Nomads" and "When It Rains". But then it's not all heavy as "Headbobbers" and "When Halle Met Lujah" bring some light relief. If you're looking for a groove, check out "Eye Of A Needle" and one outstanding track, "Countdown", features The Cross Movement's The Ambassador reminding us of the shortness of time available to decide to follow Christ. Wordplay and rhymes, rhythms and grooves, Mark J has the lot!
