Big bucks do not always mean great art: take Celine Dion (please). But here we have a kitchen sink production from Brown Bannister allied to a team of crack Christian and secular sessioners to bring us a CD full of artistic and spiritual merit. Think Marc Cohn with a happy pill, Billy Joel without the gravely voice (“Just To Know You” even borrows from “Piano Man”), combined with a Michael W Smith sound. Schultz sings about a spirituality of grace for our marriages, careers, and bereavements. Just for once the Dove nominations are bang on the money here. As finely crafted and spiritually enriching as Nashville pop gets.
