This mini-album is the follow up to 'You Never Know' (2006) and 'See. . . ' (2007) albums by the Leamington Spa-based singer/songwriter. The stated aim of Martin's album is to address the many questions of life that have few answers. The first thing that strikes the listener is the strong songwriting skill shown here, especially the opening song "Can You Hear Me" which paints the picture of God trying to reach out to an individual. Secondly, you notice the strong production that has gone into what is probably a low budget project. Thirdly, Martin is clearly very talented as not only he writes all songs but also plays all instruments (though he does have a little help with backing vocalist Rich Bee). Fourthly, Martin's vocal style is better suited to fast paced songs that require less focus on the vocals such as "Between The Lines". Martin sounds less relaxed on slower tracks such as "Closed Doors" and "What Makes You" which, like the opener, asks many questions of the listener. An album worth investigating.
