For those who enjoyed Matt's previous album 'Empty And Beautiful' this one follows in a similar vein. With upbeat tracks and some deft musicianship these simple songs from the Arizona-based worship leader skilfully takes us on a journey through musings and revelations. With a voice that seems able to switch between being deep gravelly tones on "Hold Us Together" and "Flesh And Bone" to light, melodic phrasing on "Christ Is Risen", Matt shows his versatility and skill. Lyrics like "I flirt with the world/It steals my love for you/My fear grips my faith/And I am left unmoved" bite home while the driving bass line and almost military drum beat of "Love Comes Down" gives a sense of the importance of the song. The only weakness in this album -and this is being picky - is that despite all the interesting guitar work and plaintive string and piano accompaniment a song like "Letting Go" still feels as though it is going round in circles. But overall this is well crafted worshipful music.

Product Description
Alive Again captures the penetrating spirit and charisma for which Matt Maher’s worship songs have become known in a live setting.
This compelling, 12-track journey he hopes will lead people “back to their own hearts” and “prompt listeners to stop and ask some tough questions about who they are and where they are letting God manoeuvre in their hearts. And in doing that, experience the heart of the passion, death and resurrection.”
