This little hard back is a handy size and a tie-in with the worship master's latest album that could accompany you places and be read in bite-size portions. There are lots of books about worship and this is certainly one to read and keep on the shelf for reference and inspiration, especially if you are a songwriter. A book that is sure to be well-thumbed, it introduces us to the greatness of God using our human language and understanding, yet always pointing to the indescribable greatness of God. It reminds us about reverence and awe, about friendship with God, about the paradoxes of God and about his creativity. Matt uses his skills with language to help us to focus on God in a fresh way, to discover God for ourselves and to challenge and inspire us to get face down with God. I liked the approach to the whole topic of meeting God, seeing God, looking for God and experiencing his presence. Quote from Mike Pilavachi, "Matt's teaching and poetry informs the mind and warms the heart." That sums it up very well!

Classic bestseller now available again!
Most believers understand that worship is not a compartmentalized aspect of the Christian experience, but rather it is the motivation--the driving force--behind all that we do and are. We exist to worship God. For years we have been basking in God’s love and worshipping Him with uplifted hands and hearts. Now we need to go deeper and see that God is also an awesome, mysterious being who should engender our silent, even dumbstruck, reverence for His holiness, His “otherness.”
Until we are undone by the knowledge of who God is in all His glory, we will only touch the edges of true worship.
Matt Redman says, “When we face up to the glory of God, we find ourselves face down in worship.” This book shows the biblical record of those who found themselves prostrate before God.
Matt Redman is a worship leader, songwriter, and the author of numerous books including “The Unquenchable Worshipper.” Among his well-known songs are 10,000 Reasons, Blessed Be Your Name, You Never Let Go, and The Heart of Worship.
