Michigan-based recording artist and producer Matthew Parker obviously had a lot of fun making his first ever Christmas release with the light-hearted "Mistletoe Meltdown" recalling the time his 10 year old self was forced to endure a kiss from his great aunt to set the scene for an EP of yuletide tunes with a difference. Next up, a very short rendition of "The 12 Days Of Christmas" mercifully dispenses with those turgid ever-lengthening verses to comic effect whilst an EDM version of "Carol Of The Bells" (subtitled "If It Were Made By Cyborg Santa") succeeds in putting a fresh slant on this festive chestnut and showcases Parker's obvious production skills. Whilst Parker's tongue is firmly lodged in his cheek for most the EP, the poignant "Kindle" tells of the real reason for the season to end proceedings with meaning.
