In years past the British Church has been the world's leading exponents of Christian dance/electronic music. But with the passing of the World Wide Message Tribe, dBA, et al computer-driven music has been largely ignored by the British Church save for the occasional fine releases from Andy Hunter. Today it's the Americans leading the way in making music with genuine youth and clubland appeal. Capital Kings and David Thulin have been leading the charge and now Matthew Parker from Jackson, Michigan has stepped up to the mark with a fine release on Dream's Drom EDM label. "Bleeding Hearts" is a chillout gem with a powerful lyric ("To feel pain is human and everybody bleeds red sometimes/But we feel all the cuts in our heart when we run through the flame and we fall as we climb"). Then there's "Mousetrap" with a rap from Skrip and what can only be described as a reggae/EDM mashup on "All Around De World". Thoroughly recommended.

Absolutely fabulous album from Mat, hopefully he will now
get the recognition he deserves. The album is full of
excellent tracks, plenty of potential singles. Matthew
blends the spectrum of EDM, taking in elements of dubstep,
electro, hip hop, electronica and even experiments with
reggae elements on 'all around the world'. He mixes all
these elements but with excellent pop sensibilities so it
appeals to a bigger audience. This is one of the most
outstanding albums this year - do yourself a favour and get
it.
