'Something To Say' is Matthew West's third album, but I guess you could call it miraculous that it even exists as in April 2007, just before he was due to record, Matthew lost his voice and needed an operation and a period of complete silence to restore it. To a certain extent the album benefits from this as the joy of being able to sing comes through in a unique way. The songs are nimbly crafted and with Brown Bannister at the helm are very well produced while Matthew's voice is warmly expressive. From the upbeat "Something To Say" through the stadium anthem "All The Broken Pieces" via the haunting "Safe And Sound" the album has enough variety to keep the interest up and a few quirks here and there - particularly the half hidden track with Matthew and his daughter Lulu singing a song together. Another quality album from the singer/songwriter who is now a major US CCM star.
