The debut album from this five-piece band from North Carolina kicks off with a couple of beefy rock tunes. "Lay It Down" is a chunky riff-laden anthem with a lyric full of praise and "Crucified" has a slightly more avant-garde approach with the vocalist sounding eerily like David Byrne in places. The band share vocal duties so it's not easy to tell who sings what, but all are strong vocalists. On the strength of these first two songs the album was sounding very promising, it would have been nice if that level of quality could have been retained throughout but inevitably there are a few fillers. Overall however, there are some very strong songs here and a lot of potential for future works. "Free Yourself" is one of the album's strongest rock tracks and there are a couple of acoustic songs that bring a welcome level of contrast.
