'Holy One' is the debut album to be released by the UK-based worship couple, Michael and Becci Ball, under Furnace Music in partnership with Integrity Music. Birthed in the Manchester House Of Prayer (MHOP) the album carries a very intimate sound that truly honours the environment it has come from. The choice to keep the style of the recording low key and organic causes it to take time to make an impact, however it slowly eases you into a place of unadulterated worship. It's hard not to begin singing along to the simple reprises in each song as Michael and Becci pour out adoration to our God. "Worth My Time" begins with almost exactly the same underscore as Kim Walker-Smith's cover of "How He Loves" which is a little off-putting, but is soon forgotten as soon as the chorus kicks in. The album comes to a beautiful and meditative close with the song "All Because Of You", and the following instrumental track of the same title, which testifies to the goodness of God's restorative nature and could best be described as a modern-day psalm. The reflective musical sound, purity of heart and simple, yet beautiful lyrics are what makes this an album worthy of investing in and adding to your soaking playlist.
