Jim Andrews' mix of this full-on-gospel garage classic from 1996 keeps much of the vocal excitement of the original, while giving it a more housey rhythm and one of the funkiest bass lines ever composed. To my taste "dub" mixes often mean "dud" mixes, but the "Solid Grove Vocal Dub" is better than some (though it is too repetitive to play for its full duration). Just one vocal sample is used: "Can you feel it," so a lot of the song's meaning is lost, as (ironically) is the feeling! Having said that, a musician friend whose tastes are well developed preferred the feel of the dub to Mr Andrews' efforts. So, two happy DJs fighting over which side the needle should ride.
