Irish singer/songwriter Mike Keenan has been around now performing and recording since the early 1990s and has travelled extensively throughout Ireland, UK, USA, Japan and other countries beside. He lists his early influences as being Bob Dylan, John Denver, Neil Young and the Dubliners though some of the tracks on this CD have notable Celtic influences and reminded me of Robin Mark whose music I very much admire. Sadly though, I have to say that the vast majority of songs on this CD sound more than a little dated stylistically (even by the standards of country music) and if I close my eyes listening to this I'm more inclined to imagine Mike in a glittery cowboy suit performing on stage at Peter Kay's Pheonix Club on country and western night rather than worshipping God in front of a crowd of believers.

Mike you should go back to recording the beautiful Christian songs you started off recording and writing. I am looking for your first album that has the song In the Country Churchyard. It was an album that had a marriage theme to it. There was a great song you wrote. I lost the album and I forget the name of it. If anyone knows it please let me know. :-(
