This is the debut album from Mirjam, a new solo artist from Norway. Reminiscent of the Songbird herself, Eva Cassidy, Mirjam has a light, effortless voice that permeates the air. Yet her vocals are powerful and definite throughout her passionate tributes to God. The lyrics are original reflections combined with well known phrases of praise and worship. I am reluctant to use the word clichéd, but lines like "You are the air beneath my wings" would justify that term. But there are only a few of these familiar lines and they do not detract from the thoroughly enjoyable album that this is. I was very pleasantly entertained and even on the first play I found myself trying to sing along to the choruses or heartfelt worship. It is a delightful, easy listening album that demands a long, deep breath and totally relaxed attention. Beautiful.
