Another powerhouse of a worship album from the Morning Star church in North Carolina. This is their most recent album, recorded at their Heart Of David III and IV Conferences. Like the other MS live albums the power from this CD just throws itself at you. Passionately performed songs - there's absolutely no doubt that these guys are truly serious about their faith and their music and again the boundaries of worship music get widened. As producer Dan Potter writes in the sleevenotes, "After thinking for a moment about the unending creative power of God, I realise that it is impossible to exhaust his resources." With five tracks lasting 65 mins total, the first, "King's Kid", is a wild Celtic-influenced instrumental, celebrating life in God's grace. "Come Let Us Go Up To The Mountain" and "Fly Me Like The Wind" explore the wondrous freedom we have in Christ and the heights to which we can soar by moving in his Spirit. This is truly music to stir us and broaden our spiritual horizons. The most unusual of all tracks (though none could be called 'conventional') is the 21-minute "Testimony Of Grace" during which Matthew Donovan and Suzy Wills spontaneously sing their stories of coming to faith. A fascinating approach - and boy have they got stories to tell. Another creative and diverse recording. Far from your average sing-along-a-praise album, this project almost demands participation and that you be spiritually impacted. You are expected to be drawn into a full worship experience. For those seeking new approaches to worship, this album (and previous output from this team) will be of great interest. There is something musically (and spiritually) exciting going on here.
