With ‘Worship’ the style changes and becomes ever so slightly more conventional, as Don Potter’s unique style is replaced by those of worship leaders/songwriters Leonard Jones and Matthew Donovan. It remains fairly intense though and demands participation. The opener “Oh Jah” is a wonderfully rousing cry to God to move amongst us and you immediately feel your spirit being stirred. The long and fast-paced instrumental break towards the end of this piece features the fiddle playing wizardry of Ricky Skaggs, no less. “Dance Into The Land” is a punchy song of celebration which is bound to set your feet a-tapping if not a-dancing. There’s a couple of more gentle-paced songs too, e.g. “Rise In Me” with beautiful piano playing and a gospel feel. Then there’s “Mighty God” which has got to be one of the most impressive and moving worship songs I’ve ever heard.
