This is a delightful collection of recordings of choirs based in the town of Mpongwe, in Zambia's Copperbelt Province. The choirs all perform acappella, singing songs with titles that translate into English as "God, You Are My Father", "God Has Spoken To Us In His Son", "Who Can Be Against Us" and "Rejoice, All You Christians". Beautiful performances, stirring and uplifting. If this album can grab the public's imagination in the same way that the Kenyan Boys' Choir did recently, it would be brilliant - especially as money raised from its sales will be going to help the work of the Mpongwe Baptist Association in Zambia. Brave Risen Records are to be congratulated for recording this and here's hoping many will investigate this moving album.
